Week 1

Well, I got through it. I apologize again for my voice. Hopefully I will have recovered by next week. Make sure you are reading through chapter 1.

Week 1 Lecture Power Point

I was asked to post a list of books that I thought are good books aimed at teaching linux and not just oriented at teaching for the certification exam. I am going to list these as Amazon links for ease but they are not affiliate links:

Essential System Administration was the tome I cut my teeth on. Its known as the Armadillo book and its a bit out of date but is still considered the bible to Unix administration.

Linux System Administration is another great book specifically on Linux Admin. This has been the bible for Linux Admins for years as well.

Linux In A Nutshell is the best reference book on Linux. This is people that have the basics but need a quickreference when they get stuck on something. This is a reference book. The information is quick and consice and not really a how to book. This one should be by your side whenever you are working.

Did you notice all of these were from the same publisher, O'Reilly? No I'm not related but they do, in my humble opinion, create some of the best Tech related books on the market. They also offer a great service to which I subscribe at Safari Books Online. They have thousands of tech books online and searchable and I cannot tell you how many times this services has save my neck.

I will post more books as I have time to review them. See you next week!.
