About The New CompTIA Linux + Certification Exams

As of October 2010, There are now two exams that must be successfully passed in order to receive the Lunix+ certification from CompTIA. They updated the exams to include newer developments in the more popular Linux distros.

The exams are LX0-101 and LX0-102

Also you may at the time of taking the test opt to become eligible for the Linux Professional Institute's (LPI) certification. Successfully passing LX0-101 and LX0-102 will also earn you the LPIC-1 Certification

Each exam is currently $173. You will need to purchase a separate voucher for each exam.

The exams can be take at Person VUE and Prometric testing centers.

If you fail your first attempt, there is no waiting period before attempting a retest. If you fail a second time you will be required to wait 14 days before retaking the exam. Each attempt will require the purchase of a new exam voucher.
